Curriculum

The philosophy of Summit School Duluth is centered around the belief that children learn best when they are actively involved. We emphasize hands-on activities in small classes taught by licensed professionals. Each student has plenty of interaction with the teachers, allowing for the full academic and social development of each individual.

Our teachers are licensed, enthusiastic and creative professionals.

Children are encouraged to discover relationships between subject areas, thus integrating the curriculum and making learning more meaningful to them.

Learning experience is enhanced by the use of technology where appropriate.

In addition to our regular curriculum we have teaching specialists in music, art, physical education and French.

French is taught at Summit for several reasons:
1) Has a positive effect on intellectual growth.
2) Enhances a child’s mental development.
3) Children will have a greater sensitivity to language, and a better ear for listening.
4) Opens the door to other cultures and helps a child understand and appreciate people from other countries that speak French: France, Canada,Belgium,Switzerland,Monaco and many African nations.
