Summit School’s mission is to provide the children in its care, beginning in infancy, the highest quality of developmentally appropriate learning experiences to create an environment that embodies creativity, exploration, respect, safety, and fun!
Summit School is centrally located in a quiet, residential neighborhood. We have three acres of outdoor space — and we use it all year. The placement of our school allows for walks, playing in the grass, on the blacktop, and even a mini sledding hill in the winter. We have a newly updated preschool playground on one side of the school and a separate playground for toddlers on the other. Our 100+ year-old building has more than 15,000 square feet that the teachers use to create innovative learning opportunities.
It’s all about creating an atmosphere of exploration and curiosity. Each day, the teachers engage each of the senses to teach even the smallest in our care by reading books, singing to them, providing art projects, and many other other hands-on activities. We work to instill investigation skills and positive self-esteem to help our kids to grow up confident in their ability to succeed. The preschool component is divided into Investigations that embed the kindergarten readiness guidelines. Your preschooler will be learning everything he or she needs to know to thrive in kindergarten and won’t even know it.
